Teen Martial Arts Program (Ages 13-17)

Martial Arts Class

Growing up can be hard for teenagers. It can be even harder on parents trying to guide them along the way. Does your teenager need help in becoming a happy and successful adult?

IS YOUR TEEN STRUGGLING IN THESE AREAS?

Is your teen dealing with this?

"My teenager doesn't think things through and has poor judgement because of it."

"My teen is really shy and needs to be more confident and believe in themselves. It is starting to get in the way of their success at school"

"My teen has very low self-esteem and gives up too easily when things get hard."

"My teen is a target for bullying." Or even worse, "I think my teen may be doing the bullying themselves."

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND SUCCESS SKILLS FOR TEENS

Teenagers that learn martial arts also learn how applying self-discipline, respect, and perseverance benefits them and others. Karate begins and ends with respect, not anger or violence. Students learn that how they treat themselves and others reflect who they are and how successful they can be. Self-respect turns into respect for others as they learn that not only themselves but others are valuable and worth respecting.

Self-esteem and confidence are two of the biggest attributes needed for success. Those two traits cannot be taught as much as they are built over time. We build a student's self-esteem and confidence by empowering them to overcome challenges and allowing them the chance to do so. Every challenge that is overcome in the dojo becomes self-esteem and confidence.

Our students develop a multitude of life skills such as better judgement and decision making. The difference between a good performance or not often depends on the choices they make with the information they have. Skill in critical thinking is key in and out of the dojo. Your teen will develop better critical thinking skills as well as develop better instincts for good decision making.

Setting and achieving goals is required to study martial arts. Every new skill and rank they earn represents another goal achieved. This is great practice for setting realistic goals and achieving them at home, in school, and in life!

HOW DO WE MEET THESE CHALLENGES?

Raising a teenager can be one of the biggest challenges of being a parent. Finding a way to give them the tools they need to become successful adults while not driving yourself crazy sounds like an impossible dream. Where do you even begin?

Putting your teenager in a solid martial arts program that also teaches life skills can teach your kids how to meet goals and overcome the challenges life may throw at them. You want the kind of lessons that will come home with them and prime them for success at school and for the rest of their lives.
